Judge Bruce Weiss has served Snohomish County as a Superior Court Judge for more than 16 years and has led the Court as its Presiding Judge through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has held numerous leadership positions in the Court and in the statewide judiciary. The Snohomish County Bar Association named him its “Judge of the Year” in 2020.

A native of New York and the son of an NYPD police officer, Judge Weiss graduated from the University of Montana Law School and then made his way to the Pacific Northwest to begin a successful litigation practice in 1986. His work for nearly two decades helped ordinary people with family law, personal injury, small business issues, real estate and criminal defense. He then served as a Superior Court Commissioner for two years before being appointed as a judge in 2007.

The Court is proud of the work Judge Weiss did as the Lead Juvenile Drug Court Judge to reduce recidivism and drug use with our kids.

Judge Weiss has given his time and expertise as a volunteer for the Mock Trial competitions sponsored by Seattle University Law School and the YMCA.

A father of two grown sons and a daughter with a total of ten grandchildren, Judge Weiss and his wife Kellie spend much of their free time at games and practices – hockey, basketball, golf, volleyball, baseball, and soccer.

He looks forward to being re-elected by the voters of Snohomish County in 2024.
