Experience, Leadership, and Respect
The citizens of Snohomish County deserve to have experienced, hardworking judges who make fair and well-reasoned decisions on the bench. I have held my position on our Superior Court bench since 2007. I look forward to earning your vote for this, my fifth re-election. My reputation in our legal community is one of a judge who works hard and efficiently and who explains his reasoning to those who come before him. As a result of this style, even when a party is unsuccessful in a trial or hearing before me, they know they have been heard, they know their position has been taken into consideration and they understand the basis for my decision.
I am one of the most senior judges in Snohomish County Superior Court. As Presiding Judge, I successfully led our court through the COVID pandemic — an unprecedented time in the history of our courts. We had to completely alter how the court transacted business to keep the court open, safe, and efficient. We never shut down our court. As a result of changes we made to legal proceedings during that difficult time, our court now allows litigants and attorneys to appear remotely saving time and money for litigants and attorneys.
Prior to being appointed Judge, I served as a Court Commissioner and had my own general litigation firm for 19 years. I also had experience as an arbitrator and handling criminal prosecutions for the City of Everett. These experiences are the foundation for my balanced approach as judge.
I look forward to continuing to serve our community in upholding our laws. I hope you will take a few moments to review my endorsement list to see that it shows the respect I have earned. I look forward to earning your vote in 2024.
